The pupil referral unit is situated in the Teacher Education Centre and consists of two rooms, a teacher/conference room and a classroom.

The unit provides short-term education for:

 

  • pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • pupils experiencing bereavement or other traumas
  • pupils experiencing physical difficulties associated with a medical problem
  • pregnant girls of compulsory school age
The Pupil Referral Unit is a source of support when pupils cannot be effectively educated within schools. The Education Officer (Training, Resources and SEN) manages the unit with support from the peripatetic teacher for Emotional and Behaviour Difficulties.
