The curriculum offers a wide variety of both academic and practical subjects, to provide opportunities to develop well-rounded students. All students are exposed to all of the subjects that are available, with the exception of swimming and PSHE. These are as follows: | ||||||||||||||||||

Swimming takes place at the Jamestown Swimming Pool with Years 3 and 4 students only. PSHE is taught to Yr. 6 students only. Cooking, Woodcraft, Drama and Craftwork are Circuit Time Activities that are taught on a rotational basis for 10 weeks at a time. Homework: Year 6 students are expected to do homework in preparation for their transfer to Prince Andrew School. For Years 3, 4 and 5 students, reading is a necessity but, at times, some homework will help them to follow up the interest they have developed at school. Parents are asked to co-operate in providing suitable conditions for study at home and to encourage students to utilize their time well. Assessments: NFER (National Foundation of Educational Research) tests in English and Maths, and Suffolk Reading are taken by all students annually, with SATs (Standardised Attainments Tests) taken by students from Year 6. Extra Curricular Activities: the school offers a number of lunch time leisure activities depending on the availability of staff and materials. Such activities include clay modelling, macramé, skittles, dancing, choir, band, pin-work and toy making. Parents who may wish to offer any help or ideas for improving these leisure time activities should contact any member of the staff. |
