The PTA is a non-political, non-religious body with the following objectives:
to promote the welfare and interests of children attending the school
to encourage learning and good social behaviour
to act as a liaison between the school and home
to assist with fund raising
One representative is elected from each class if possible. Fund raising is an important objective to help purchase additional materials for the school, finance the annual Christmas party and gifts at Easter.
Membership:
membership is open to all parents of children attending the school or nursery
the PTA Committee comprises a chairperson, vice-chairperson, secretary, treasurer and at least six other members
the Headteacher must serve as an officer of the committee
An Annual General Meeting is held at the start of each school year to elect a new committee. Meetings are held by the Committee once every half term.
Additionally parents are welcome to attend the school to help staff with, for instance: reading stories, listening to children reading, arts and crafts, cooking, accompanying school trips.
