| I've just sent you a thank-you email which I trust you will receive. Your
web-site is very friendly and I can just imagine your school in its clifftop
setting after seeing the photographs which the Tanners took.

| Congratulations.
I recently came across the St.Helena education site and thought it only appropriate to leave a note saying thank you to the staff of Harford and Pilling Middle School for my education. I am currently at Peter Symonds College in the UK studying for my A-Level exams, and would like to hear from some old classmates and friends.
Thank you.
Christian Williams
P.S The site is looking great.

| Congratulations.
Well done, one site that really does link all of St Helena education. (On a personal note, there is no wonder it took quite a while to put together, as a small nephew would say IT's awesome) Love . Mum& Dad

| Dear Staff of St. Pauls Middle,
Glad to see you have a web-site and also a guestbook. Tell Lilla that she
needs to update the website cos I am tired of looking at the same old pics
all the time OK? I would like to say hello to Alice, Pat and Selena who are
working so hard towards their Christmas entertainment. Hope that it will be
a fun and wonderful show. Tell "Deputy" that she is still looking marvellous
and happy, is it because I have left you'll? I am doing fine down this way,
should be going out to the United States (South Carolina) in January for an
eight week training course in which I hope I shall pass to become a
qualified Firefighter. If I don't pass then I will expect that I will return
to St. Paul's Middle with you'll. I work with a team of 10 firefighters, we
have 3 teams of 10 and I am on the first team. We respond to vechile
accidents and all other accidents, responding to Fires and Fire Alarms,
dealing with all Aircraft Movements. Anyway I hope that you will all enjoy
your next few weeks leading up to Christmas and also the Christmas Holidays.
Please take care and I will look foward to hearing from at least one of
you'll soon OK?
So, all the best for now,

| St Helena history I found your web site a week ago and tried to send a message to one of your staff, Caroline Beard. I am not sure that my message got through so I am sending it again, just in case . If Caroline is still with you, could you please send this on to her? Dear Caroline, I have been studying my family tree and many of my relatives went to and lived on St Helena in the last century. Their surnames were Beard, Slade and Davis. Today I logged into your website and found your name so I thought it might be possible that we are related. Here is a very brief summary of what I know already. a)Joseph Beard baptised 1813, son of Joseph Beard Christian Slave to Mary Hodson. b)Mary Beard. Details as above. 3)Sophia Beard. Details as above. 4)Humphrey Beard ,baptised 9 Jan 1814. Parents John davis and Martha Beard.Elizabeth Beard. Details as above. 5) Elizabeth Beard. Details as above. 6) Margaret Beard ,daughter of Joseph Beard and Magsey London. Baptized 9Jan 1814 7)Martha Beard parents Richard Beard and Sarah March. Baptized 27 May 1814. Then I have the following: 1) William Slade born 14 March 1833 Parents John and Elizabeth (John came to St Helena in 1813 as a soldier). 2) Elizabeth Slade born 1837 Parent Mary Slade. 3) Caroline Slade baptized 1 Jan 1839 Parents John and Elizabeth Slade. Caroline is my great grandmother. On her death certificate her son said that her mother was Mary Beard but her birth certificate said her mother was Elizabeth. Does any of this make sense to you? I also found a George Beard in the previous century. Today I tried to find where the Beards and the Slades were buried and had very little success. If you can help me I would be very grateful. Caroline and her husband, Patrick Flynn , a soldier on St Helena, left St Helena and came to live in Australia where their families still live. Hello to a dear friend Sharina Williams, I stumbled upon this website, saw your name and just had to try an get in touch with you. My name is Fiona Pinner, I loved on St Helena from 1990-1994. We were good friends. I moved back to the UK and lost touch with you. I am now living in Glasgow, Scotland in my own flat and in a good job. I am glad to see you are teaching. I hope you and the little one are doing fine. (He won't be to little now though, will he !!) I hope to hear back from you. Greetings Thank you very much for the tour of your education system - unfortunately our system would not allow us to download the photos, nor could we find anything on 'courses' ... we're most interested because of the forthcoming DfID-funded project. St Helena would make quite a change from Botswana! Regards Joy Griffiths Mike Blundell<JGriffiths@gov.bw> Tuesday, February 12, 2002 9:53 AM |
